Most of the show's storyline centered around T.I. being a protective father when it comes to Zonnique and her music group, The OMG Girlz.
During the show, the group was shown just returning from their first tour (The Scream Tour) that centers on young, talented adolescents performing their music selections for semi-large crowds. The OMG Girlz toured alongside another popular group named Mindless Behavior.
Well, it's no secret to fans of the reality series that Tip Harris is not too keen on having his daughter, Zonnique, who is almost 16, around young boys 24/7 with almost a lack of parental advisory. There was a picture a while ago that leaked showing an alleged Zonnique laying in the bed (clothed) with a member of the group, Mindless Behavior. So, it's safe to say that Tip would have this sort of protective attitude when it comes to anything in relation to Zonnique and her image. Afterall, he is a dad now that was once a young boy...regardless of his criminal background.
Tip was broadcasted as being very opinionated during this particular episode, though, and I don't think it went over too well with Tameka "Tiny" Harris or Zonnique.
He was constantly dismissing the outfits chosen for the girls' "Gucci This" video shoot because he thought they were too grown for them. He was also shown to be a tad bit upset about some wedge heels picked out for the girls' photo shoot for Hype Hair magazine. He stated that the reason he was so against the wardrobe choices is because he knows that "once that gets out of control, everything gets out of control."

I couldn't agree more with him.
There were some people who said that his opinionated and overprotective attitude made him a perfect father. I wouldn't go that far with my view regarding his role as a man and father, but I do say that he was totally on point with his role as a father in this episode. There were even some who commented and said being an ex-felon doesn't make him a good father.
Well, guess what. Tip being an ex-felon doesn't make him a flawless father, it makes him an imperfect father...but it doesn't discredit him as being a good father. It is very true, that the choices he made for himself will impact his children and anyone else that sees him in the limelight.
However, God's mercies are new every morning--for everyone. Simple as that.
So, yes although we know Tip has a rough history when it comes to being a stable at home father, he's darn sure trying to set a new mold now. Who are we to really know if he's acting like a good dad for publicity or doing it for his children. Either way, we can only hope for the best and be realistic about the other possibilities. Overall, we should understand that just as we sometimes make bad choices in our daily lives behind the cameras, he is human too in front of the cameras. Live and let live. Learn from his negative choices and learn from his positive ones as well.
With that said, do you think T.I.'s status as an ex-felon takes away from him being a "good" father? What's your definition of a "good" father?

I think a good father is a man who can admit that he has made mistakes and has learned from those mistakes. A good father is one who can lead his children by example. T.I. has definitely shown them what not to do and it would appear he is trying to change his life around so that he can lead them by a better example. I don't think a person should lose all credibility because they made mistakes. Imagine if God had not loved us enough to send his Son to cover all of our mistakes.
