Be Strong and Courageous!

In a moment of transparency, let me tell you about my spiritual workout this morning. I woke up, prepared my husband and son to head out for their day, and proceeded to get in my secret place for prayer like I try to do every morning. I had my gospel music playing softly in the background so the mood was set. However, this morning was very different for me…

I attempted to rise up from my newly created prayer circle (a circle drawn from chalk on my bedroom carpet)…and God whispered, “get back down there.” So I obeyed. As I kneeled down on my hands and knees, I waited for God to speak again. While waiting, I began listening to the music I had playing.

Every song that played while I was down ministered to me, and I slowly began to realize that God was delivering his message through those songs.
Now most of you who stay tuned into The Christian Chameleon or follow me on social media websites know that I have started reading this book entitled, The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson.  This book is about praying circles around our biggest dreams just as Honi did when he drew his circle and prayed for rain to come, which God sent it in abundance. So…I’m listening to the music and I’m amazed when the first song that caught my attention was Earnest Pugh’s “Rain on Us”.

How befitting, right?
I began to cry because I knew then that for the first time in a long time, God was clearly revealing his presence as I kneeled in that circle. So I began to pray again, only this time actually conversing with God instead of just praying for what my heart desires. Then another song came on and I stopped. It was Kierra Sheard’s song called “Praise Offering”. She simply said she owes God her gratitude and everything she has for what He has done in her life. Amazing, because that is exactly what I had just communicated to God.

Again, how befitting.
Finally, I felt released so I stood up from that circle. I immediately grabbed my Bible and was lead to the book of Joshua…

It goes on to say in Joshua 1:8 that the law in this book shall not depart from my mouth. I better not let God’s instructions or His promise depart from my spirit. I should meditate on them day and night, so that I will be prosperous and successful.

Then again, it said, “Be strong and courageous…get your supplies ready.”
I received God's message with gladness. The last song I heard before I came downstairs to write this was "Expect a Harvest"...because it's going to rain. Wow.

See, I took a moment to share this because I know that this wasn’t just for me. It was for someone else out there who needed to be refueled and reaffirmed of God’s unchanging hand while they’re on a journey toward greatness. God just proved to me that he’s there and he’s listening. He cares. He wants us to keep circling until we hear from Him; until he sends the rain.

Be strong and courageous. Get your supplies ready so that when it’s your time to go forward you’ll be prepared.
