Justice for Trayvon Martin: Will His Family Receive It?

Most of you have more than likely heard the story about Trayvon Martin, a 17 year old black boy from Florida, who was shot to death by a 28 year old white man only 70 yards from his father’s front door in their gated neighborhood…

I’ve been tracking this story since it first developed and I am saddened by the police efforts in this case.

Trayvon Martin’s family now has to wake up every morning with the thought that their son went to the store for some candy and iced tea only never to return thanks to a man set on being a vigilante from the moment he got in his car with his loaded gun that day.
What neighborhood watch person do you know that intentionally drives around with a loaded weapon in a gated neighborhood? I wouldn’t expect that kind of behavior, even if it was from a Criminal Justice student with a “squeaky clean” record as the Seminole police department put it.
Of course, which we now know to be untrue; Zimmerman doesn’t have a squeaky clean record.

So, my question is…why hasn’t this guy been arrested yet? He clearly admitted to shooting this young boy and witnesses have reported that they heard Martin scream out for help during the altercation which led to his untimely death. It’s sad to know, though, that investigators have attempted to lead witnesses in their answers in regards to what they seen or heard. One teacher reported that she did hear Martin scream for help, but the police corrected her and said she heard Zimmerman.
Doesn’t this seem a bit scandalous to you too?

It’s disheartening to know that after all these years, we (Blacks) are still fighting for our justice. I still don’t even know what Zimmerman looks like. If this situation were reversed and Martin was the shooter of a 17 year old white boy walking home from the store, this would be a shut and closed case. Matter of fact, his face would’ve been plastered all over CNN and the likes.
So, why is it taking so long for them to arrest Zimmerman?

From the moment he stepped out of his car with his weapon after being told to stay put and wait for police, Zimmerman immediately became the aggressor not the victim. Trayvon Martin was the victim here and I don’t see how police can’t see that when everyone else can.
Is this going to be a moment of slighted justice like with the Casey Anthony trial? Hmm. What do you think?
